How do I prevent my profile from appearing in Google search results?

Profiles are set by default to be discoverable in Google search results.

You can enable the 'Block public visitors' privacy feature in Settings to help prevent this.

  1. Go to Main Menu > Settings.
  2. Scroll down to find 'Block Public Visitors'.
  3. Click the slider so it appears blue.

If Google has already indexed your profile, there is a waiting period beyond our control. You'll need to wait for Google's crawlers to revisit your page and recognize it can no longer be indexed, which can take several weeks.

Photos appearing in Google Images

If you find one of your profile photos in Google or Google Images and want it removed:

  1. Enable Block Public Visitors using the steps above.
  2. Delete the affected photo from Edit photos.
  3. Upload the photo again if you still want to use it on your profile.

Deleting and re-uploading the photo means the replacement uses a new image URL. Google may continue showing the old result or thumbnail until it refreshes its index.
