Why does Karma sometimes disappear?
Karma can disappear for a few reasons. The person who left it can delete it, a moderator can remove it after reviewing a valid report, or the member who left it can be permanently banned.
When a member is permanently banned, the Karma they previously left is hidden and the affected profile ratings are recalculated.
Restoring or re-hiding Karma on your own profile
If Karma was hidden because the account that left it was banned, open the Karma tab on your profile and select Show hidden karma. You may be able to restore eligible Karma there, and restored Karma counts toward your overall star rating.
The Show hidden karma button only appears while your profile has eligible hidden Karma. If you restore all of it, the button disappears.
To hide Karma you restored from a banned account, go back to your profile's Karma tab and select Hide under that Karma. Hide moves the Karma back into Show hidden karma rather than removing it permanently, so you can restore it again later. There is no setting that hides all Karma from your profile.
Ratings are recalculated whenever Karma is deleted, hidden, or restored, so your Karma count and average can change too.
