Why can't I find or view someone's profile?
If a profile seems to have disappeared, the notice shown when you visit it is the most reliable explanation. Not seeing someone in one set of search results does not by itself mean their account has been removed.
Missing from search
Search results depend on location and filters, so a member may not appear in every search.
Muted profiles. If someone has muted their profile, it is hidden from search but may still be available through an existing conversation or a direct profile link. Read How do I mute or deactivate my account, and what's the difference?.
Profile notices
When a profile displays a notice, the wording tells you what is preventing access:
- Blocked: The notice says whether the member blocked you, you blocked them, or you both blocked each other. Read Do blocked people know they are blocked?.
- Members only: If you are logged out, the notice may say the member made their profile viewable only to other members. Sign in to view it. Read How do I make my profile private or block public visitors?.
- Deactivated: The member has temporarily deactivated their account. Their profile stays unavailable unless they reactivate it. Read How do I mute or deactivate my account, and what's the difference?.
- Paused: The account is temporarily unavailable. A pause can happen for routine reasons, such as an unsuccessful payment or while a Professional Cuddler application is being processed, so it does not necessarily mean there is a problem with the member. The specific reason is private and is not shown.
- Timed out: The account has a temporary restriction with an expiry date. Read What does "timed out" mean on someone's profile?.
- Banned: The account has been banned. The reason and any moderation details are private.
- Deleted: The account has been deleted or removed. The notice does not tell you which reason applies. Read How do I delete my account?.
What can you tell from the notice?
The status displayed on the profile is the only account state you can rely on. Members may use words like muted, deactivated, paused, or banned imprecisely when talking about someone else's account.
We do not disclose why another member blocked you, or why an account was paused, timed out, banned, deleted, or removed.
